Physical to virtual (P2V) conversion is the process of migrating a physical machine to virtual machine with VMware vCenter Converter. This allows you to keep the same state, data, applications and system configuration as your physical machine, while benefitting from the flexibility and scalability of a virtual environment.
vCenter Converter supports many source physical machines, including Windows and Linux desktop and server editions. It also supports conversion of third-party virtual machines like Hyper-V and KVM.
Difference between Linux P2V and Windows P2V:
