Step #1

Download the Opera Browser .deb package file using wget command as follows.

$ wget https://download3.operacdn.com/pub/opera/desktop/82.0.4227.58/linux/opera-stable_82.0.4227.58_amd64.deb

Note: This is the stable version(opera-stable_82.0.4227.58_amd64.deb) of Opera at the time of writing this article. Maybe the latest version will be released when you read this article in the future.

So, as per the version available, you have to mention the package in the above command.

Step #2

Now type the following command to install the downloaded package.

$ sudo dpkg -i opera-stable_82.0.4227.58_amd64.deb

If necessary run the following command to resolve missing dependencies and finish the install.

How to Uninstall Opera from Ubuntu 20.04

$ sudo snap remove opera

Method #2

If you have installed the appication via Package Repository or direct .deb package then uninstall by running the below command:

$ sudo apt remove opera-stable
